Cal Performances' main performance venue, Zellerbach Hall, is in many ways an exceptional facility for the presentation of multidisciplinary performing arts. Built in 1968, the 2,000-seat auditorium accommodates large productions of dance, theater, and opera, as well as recitals, lectures and nonmusical performances. One of the three Centennial Campaign critical objectives was to enhance the experience for performers and audiences in Zellerbach Hall. To this end Centennial Campaign funds were raised for new seating in the auditorium, for sound system upgrades, and mezzanine and café renovations.
