Named Conductor of
the Year by Musical America at the start of the new millennium,
American-born David Robertson has been music director of Lyon's famed
Orchestre National de Lyon since that time as well. One of Europe's
finest ensembles, the orchestra is joined by pianist Leon Fleisher,
the first living American pianist to be inducted into the Classical
Music Hall of Fame, for a performance of Ravel's Piano Concerto for
Left Hand (Fleisher received a Grammy nomination for his Sony Classical
recording of the same.) The orchestra will also perform one of the
greatest works of 20th century music: Stravinsky's Le Sacre du
Printemps.
