Sweden's leading chamber orchestra, selected from the finest Scandinavian players, enjoys a distinct reputation as an amazingly unified and musically balanced camerata (conductor-less chamber orchestra). Led by Terje Toennesen, Norway's charismatic violinist and winner of the prestigious Grieg Prize, the ensemble is known for its intensely expressive performances of diverse works by Scandinavian composers ranging from the Baroque to the contemporary. Camerata Sweden displays "elegance, bravura, and triumphant collaboration," says The New York Times
