Performing on the "Paganini Quartet," a group of renowned Stradivarius instruments named for the legendary virtuoso, the four members of the venerable Tokyo String Quartet have been setting standards of excellence in chamber music performance for over 30 years. During its remarkable career, the ensemble has released more than 30 landmark recordings, including the complete quartets of Beethoven, Shubert, and Bartók. They are joined in this recital by 29-year-old American pianist Max Levinson, winner of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, and San Francisco Symphony principal violist Geraldine Walther, for a program featuring two Brahms quintets.

Program: Brahms/Viola Quintet in G major, Op. 111; Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 34.
