A remarkably rich
mezzo voice and eye-catching stage presence have vaulted Michelle
DeYoung into the forefront of her generation of vocalists. Since
graduating from the Met's Young Artists Program, she has performed
with some of the world's most illustrious orchestras and has been
in increasing demand as a recitalist and concert artist. Familiar
to Bay Area audiences from her numerous critically acclaimed performances
with the San Francisco Symphony, "she wields a voice of uncommon
power and beauty, joining a rich, throaty timbre to seemingly tireless
strength," says the San Francisco Chronicle.
