Ancient rhythms meet 21st-century techno beats in the groundbreaking musical experiment, Tabla Beat Science. This unique collaboration brings together universally acclaimed classical Indian percussionists with superstars of electronica and ambient music to create an exciting new "world fusion" sound. First heard on their acclaimed 2000 debut album Tala Matrix, Tabla Beat Science returns to the Bay Area following their live performance at Stern Grove last summer that was the top draw of the acclaimed summer music festival. This one-of-a-kind lineup is a Who's Who of Indian maestros, featuring classical tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain, widely considered one of the world's greatest living percussionists; New York DJ, drummer, and electric-tabla player Karsh Kale; Talvin Singh, founding member of London's South Asian DJ underground; and Ustad Sultan Khan, recognized as the world's preeminent player of the sarangi. A hypnotic synthesis of classical raga rhythms with futuristic beats, Tabla Beat Science is a high-voltage musical adventure that pushes the boundaries of sonic entertainment.
