Venue: Zellerbach Hall

Subscription Series: Winter/Spring Series

Showcasing 12 dancers, six musicians (including two bandoneon players), a singer, dazzling costumes, and provocative choreography throughout, Tango Buenos Aires traces the 100-year-old tradition of the sensuous international dance sensation, translating the seductive spirit of Argentina's soul into passionate movement. One of Argentina's great cultural exports, this high-energy company was created by renowned composer Osvaldo Requena for a famous Buenos Aires cabaret, and has since taken the world by storm with its fast-paced rhythms and flawless coordination among dancers. Considered the world's most seasoned and authentic tango company, the ensemble crafts "swirling, fast-paced tapestries of movement, laced with proud postures and sensual couplings," says The Washington Post.
