At age 30, Flórez has already caused a sensation at such venerable opera houses and recital venues as Covent Garden, La Scala, and Wigmore Hall, and his recent Metropolitan Opera debut in The Barber of Seville garnered a lengthy and boisterous ovation. Currently one of the opera world's most in-demand singers for the bel canto works of Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti, he released his first solo recording of Rossini arias last year to wide critical acclaim.
