Pre-eminent contemporary piano duo Helena Bugallo and Amy Williams have been featured performers at such prestigious music festivals around the world, including Tanglewood 2004, and have built an extensive repertoire that includes works by John Cage, Igor Stravinsky, Frederic Rzewski, and Steve Reich. The Duo's program includes the world premiere of UC Berkeley Music Professor Jorge Liderman's In Black and White, UC Davis Music Department Chair Pablo Ortiz's Fear of Tango and works by Colon Nancarrow and György Ligeti.

Key Notes: Art of Piano The 2004/05 season marks the debut of Key Notes, a thematic lecture series presented at the Musical Offering Classical Record Shop and Café by Cal Performances and the UC Berkeley Department of Music. Join us for some light refreshments and stimulating conversation with fellow music lovers. The Musical Offering is located at 2340 Bancroft Way, across the street form Zellerbach Hall. Key Notes lectures are free and open to the public.
Composing for Duo Piano Jorge Liderman, faculty composer at the Department of Music, talks about his experience composing for two pianos. This lecture is presented on conjunction with a performance of Liderman's work by the Bugallo-Williams Piano Duo on Sun, Feb 20 and with a concert by Emanual Ax and Yefim Bronfman on Sat, Mar 26.
