Celebrating its 60th anniversarycellist Valentin Berlinsky has been with the ensemble since its inception in Moscow and has personally selected his colleagues ever sincethe Borodin Quartet is unquestionably one of the great music ensembles of our time. The world's longest-lived string quartet, the group has an unparalleled reputation and history, including an exceptionally large discography of award-winning recordings. A particular affinity with Russian repertoire was stimulated by the Borodin's early, close relationship with Dmitri Shostakovich, who personally worked with them on each of his quartets.
