"The Brentano Quartet has always given excellent concerts," wrote the critic for the Philadelphia Inquirer recently, "but from the first moments of the Mozart...you knew the group was playing on a different level." Since its inception in 1992, the Brentano has been singled out for its technical brilliance, musical insight, and stylistic elegance, and the musicians' high energy performances have made them a favorite with audiences around the world. For this concert celebrating the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth, the Quartet welcomes guest violist Hsin-Yun Huang, former member of the esteemed Borromeo String Quartet, for a performance of three quintets by Mozart.
Program:
Mozart/String Quintet No. 1 in B-flat Major, K 174; String Quintet No. 4 in G Minor, K 516; and String Quintet No. 5 in D Major, K 593
