Takács Quartet

Sun, Mar 12, '06, 3 pm

Venue: Hertz Hall

Price: $42

Subscription Series: Choose-Your-Own

The Takács Quartet's first season with new member Geraldine Walther continues with the ensemble's ongoing Beethoven string quartet cycle. Speaking of the artists' performances and Grammy-winning recordings of these monumental works, The Plain Dealer (Cleveland) said, "The Takács might play this repertoire better than any quartet of the past or present....To hear a great ensemble play Beethoven quartets is a privilege." Don't miss this rare opportunity to journey along, as one of the world's pre-eminent string ensembles scales the Mt. Everest of chamber music.

Program: Beethoven/String Quartet No. 3 in D Major, Op. 18; String Quartet No. 2 in E Minor, Op. 59; String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 127
