From the Director: Read what Robert Cole, Director, has to say about the Mark Morris Dance Group in his recent email communication.

Listen and watch as Mark Morris and Director Robert Cole chat about their friendship and working relationship in a conversation taped during a previous Mark Morris Dance Group residency.

Mark Morris has been praised as "the most successful and influential choreographer alive" (The New York Times). He and his superb company are currently celebrating their 25th anniversary together, a period that has coincidentally included 25 visits to Cal Performances! Performed to live musical accompaniment, the first program of their Fall Berkeley residency will include the world premiere of Candleflowerdance, set to Stravinsky's Serenade for Piano in A Major; the West Coast premiere of the entrancing Somebody's Coming to See Me Tonight, set to a medley of Stephen Foster tunes; and Rhymes With Silver, Morris' "dazzling 45 minutes of rhythmic revelry and meditation" (The Times, London), set to music by Lou Harrison.

Cal Performances Bay Bridge Construction Bart Shuttle: As work on the Bay Bridge during the weekend of Sept. 23-24 is expected to potentially result in traffic delays in the late evening hours, Cal Performances has arranged for special buses to ferry our patrons directly to and from the performance halls from the downtown Berkeley BART station during these time periods. See the Cal Performances BART Shuttle Schedule for more details on this free service for our patrons.
