Among Mexico's best-known artists both at home and abroad, Horacio Franco has been described by the international press as "one of the most distinguished recorder players of our time." His unusual image as a pop star breaks the stereotype of the classical musician, and, in addition to a mainstream classical audience, has attracted an incredibly large youth audience, consisting of teenagers as well as university students. Franco is an innovator in early and indigenous music, performing a wide repertoire of ancient, classical, and contemporary works. With his charismatic performance style, he pushes the flexibility of the recorder to the limit.
Presented with the support of the Consulado General de México San Francisco.
