Jordi Savall ranks among the most multi-faceted musical personalities of his generation. Viol player, conductor, and creator of an unmistakable style, his musical activities place him among the main architects of the present renaissance of early music. For this very special concert, Savall combines forces with his legendary Hespérion XXI, the vocalists of La Capella Reial de Catalunya, and the sublime soprano Montserrat Figueras for a fascinating and enlightening program exploring the spread of secular and sacred music from Europe to the New World. "Instinct and scholarship, impeccable musicality and a true sense of theater merge as Savall brings to life sounds that are half a millennium old" (San Francisco Chronicle).
