Winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society's award for Young Artist of the Year, Jonathan Lemalu, a New Zealand-born Samoan, has already impressed international critics and audiences with accomplished performances with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, and Berlin Philharmonic, as well in appearances with the Royal Opera, English National Opera, and Bayerische Staatsoper. Lemalu is equally at home on the recital stage, and his American recital debut at Cal Performances in 2004 was one of that season's memorable highlights. Perhaps all this is why the Telegraph (London) called him "one of the fastest rising stars in the musical firmament."
Program: Fauré/Poeme d'un Jour; Schumann/Dichterliebe; Brahms/Auf dem see, O Wusst ich doch, Salamander, Dein Blaues Auge, Unbewegte laue luft; Quilter/Four Shakespeare Songs; Bolcolm/Black Max, Over the Piano, Can't Sleep, The Actor, Waitin George
