Composer, musician, and activist Sheng Xiang is one of Taiwan's most passionate champions of social causes. His 1999 album won him a Best Producer and Best Composer award at Taiwan's prestigious Golden Melody awards, and his Labor Exchange Band stunned the Taiwanese pop world by winning the Best Band award in 2001. Combining both modern and traditional instruments, western rock and the music of Taiwan, Xiang and his latest ensemble of eclectic musicians perform music designed to both stir the emotions and raise our collective social consciousness.
