What does this symbol mean?
Kronos Quartet has set the standard for more than three decades, boldly pursuing its unique artistic vision, and combining a spirit of exploration with a commitment to expanding the range and context of the string quartet. Long a champion of Polish composer Henryk Mikolaj Góreckiwhose Third Symphony was such a phenomenon 15 years agoKronos returns to Berkeley with a program featuring the Bay Area premiere of the composer's transporting Third String Quartet. "Boisterously breaking down nearly every conceivable genre barrier that ever existed for the string quartet, this audacious ensemble...has changed our perception of not just what a string quartet can be, but what music can be in the 21st-century global village" (Musical America).
