What does this symbol mean?
A double-bill jazz event! Since his emergence on the music scene in the late 1990s, pianist Jason Moran has become a man to watch in modern jazz. In almost every categoryimprovisation, composition, group concept, repertoire, technique, and technological experimentationMoran and his trio, the Bandwagon, have regularly challenged the status quo and upped the ante. Former UC Berkeley student Vijay Iyer is a forceful, rhythmically invigorating performer who creates exotic realms of sound where American jazz and traditional Indian music intersect. His multicultural style is "so gripping and provocative that one hardly can wait to hear what...[he'll] hit upon next" (Los Angeles Times).
