What does this symbol mean?
For nearly 30 years, the revered Musica Antiqua Köln and its director Reinhard Goebel have graced the stages of virtually every important musical center and festival at which early music is performed. The ensemble is renowned for its lively interpretations of 17th- and 18th-century masterworks and for its virtuoso and imaginative historical performance practice. The artists return to Cal Performances with a program featuring the esteemed international contralto Marijana Mijanovic performing music of Vivaldi and Bach. "Absolute intellectual commitment combined with stylistic awareness and astonishing technique" (San Francisco Chronicle).
Program: (Little less than) A Century of German Music: works by Heinrich Bach, J.C. Bach, Telemann, J.S. Bach, Heinichen, and Zelenka
