Pianist Rudolf Buchbinder began his studies at Vienna College of Music at the age of only five, and has since developed into a protean artist, performing regularly with the world's finest orchestras and conductors. A regular guest at all the major music festivals, Buchbinder will soon mark the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth by playing 12 of the composer's piano concertos with the Vienna Philharmonic in the golden hall of the Musikverein. Returning to Berkeley for the third consecutive year, Buchbinder continues his epic traversal of the complete Beethoven sonatasa multi-year project at Cal Performancesin two separate programs.
