What does this symbol mean?
Are we witnessing the emergence of the finest young operatic tenor of our time? Rolando Villazón is a frequent partner of the great Anna Netrebko and their recent performances of La Traviata and Rigoletto in Salzburg and at the Met were the talk of the town among opera lovers and critics. With a voice often compared to that of a young Placido Domingo, the 2006 Grammy nominee's latest recording with Virgin Classics has just been released to thunderous acclaim and his voice can be heard in the Academy Award-nominated film Joyeux Noel. "Villazón is the real thing, a tenor with star potential and striking individuality" (The Sunday Times, London).
