What do these symbols mean?
Sometimes a word like "prodigy" seems wholly inadequate. Only 25 years old, violinist Sarah Chang has already conquered the world of classical music. She has collaborated with all the major orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw. Her remarkable accomplishments were recognized in 1999 whenat age 19she received the Avery Fisher Prize, one of the most prestigious awards given to instrumentalists. "A wonder. Her full, beautiful tone, unimpeachable intonation, and restrained sincerity worked perfectly against the music around her. One heard everything, and everything was worth hearing" (The New York Times).
Program: Beethoven/Kreutzer Sonata, Op. 47; Danielpour/new piece; Prokofiev/Sonata No. 2 in D major
