The youngest winner in the history of the prestigious International Jean Sibelius Competition, Sergey Khachatryan in his recent Bay Area debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra was praised by the San Francisco Chronicle as one of the season's most exciting musical events ("a wealth of technical bravura and emotional resonance"). Truly "one to watch," the native Armenian's moving interpretive skills have been compared to those of a poet, mature far beyond his years.
