Cal Performances proudly presents an exciting three-day Bach Festival, spotlighting the phenomenal Angela Hewitt, an artist praised by the New York Times recently for her "strength and power, her fluid singing tone, and the poise and profundity of her playing." Completed in 2005, her 11-year project to record all the major keyboard works of Bach (for Hyperion) has been described as one of the supreme artistic achievements of our time and has won her a huge following. Joining Ms. Hewitt on Oct 11 is cellist Daniel Müller-Schott, who in only a few years has established himself as an artist who combines technical brilliance and authority with great intellectual and emotional spirit. He returns following his acclaimed Cal Performances debut in 2005.
