Tallis Scholars

0

Without rival in the glorious sound world of Renaissance polyphony, The Tallis Scholars are cherished and regular guests at Cal Performances, where they have built a large and enthusiastic following in the years since their founding more than 30 years ago. As leading exponents of Renaissance sacred music, these "a capella superstars" are justly praised for concerts of unsurpassed grace and brilliance. Returning following a long string of sold-out performances, the ensemble will perform not only in Berkeley this season under the auspices of Cal Performances, but in San Francisco, as well, in the magnificent setting of Grace Cathedral, famed for its Ghiberti doors, labyrinths, varied stained glass, and superb acoustics.

Program: Poetry in Music for the Virgin Mary: works by Lheritier, Jean Mouton, Crecquillon, Josquin, and Gallus
