Hailed by renowned critic Harris Goldsmith as "the most exciting prodigy to ever come my way" (Musical America), 13-year-old Conrad Tao was found playing songs on the piano at about 18 months of age. Violin and piano lessons followed, with Tao giving his first public recital at age four. From there, the accomplishments only accelerated, including a memorable recital at the World Piano Pedagogy Conference at age seven and the boy's concerto debut with the Utah Chamber Music Festival Orchestra one year later. Since then, he has embarked on a string of recital and concerto performances that mark the emergence of a truly once-in-a-lifetime talent.
Program: Beethoven/Piano Sonata No. 23 in F Minor, Op. 57 (Appassionata); Tao/Fantasy-Sonata; Corigliano/Etude Fantasy For The Left Hand Alone; Rachmaninoff/Six Moments Musicaux, Op. 16; Chopin/Andante spianato et Grande Polonaise brilliante, Op. 22
