Salvatore Licitra, tenor
Members of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra
featuring San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows

The tenor who became a worldwide sensation in 2002 by stepping in for an ailing Luciano Pavarotti to save a gala Metropolitan Opera performance returns to Zellerbach Hall. Licitra has quickly established himself as a superstar in the beloved and highly demanding dramatic Italian repertory. He returns by popular demand following his electrifying 2004 Cal Performances concert, a memorable appearance that inspired the San Francisco Chronicle to rave, "A glorious return...his singing was expansive, powerful, and superbly shaped, and he wooed the audience with all the dewy charm of a fresh-faced young suitor."
