Alexander McCall Smith

0

A modern-day P.G. Wodehouse and the creator of the "utterly charming and compulsively readable" (Newsweek) Precious Ramotswe series (The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency), Scottish author Alexander McCall Smith enjoys a dedicated worldwide following, having sold more than 7 million books in 39 languages. The prolific and erudite writer has more than 60 titles to his name—including academic texts, short story collections, children's tales, and his light-footed and witty series featuring intrepid sleuth Isabel Dalhousie and punctilious Professor Dr. Moritz-Maria von Igelfeld—and the debut of the late Anthony Minghella's The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (his final film) was a recent hit on BBC Television. An audience favorite, McCall Smith's personal appearances are both sweetly engaging and downright hilarious.
