The reviews are in! Read them in the San Francisco Chronicle, who says "simply lovely," and Contra Costa Times, who exclaims "exquisite."

"Mark Morris has done more to revive interest in, to dignify and illuminate classical music to a broad audience than any conductor or musician of the last 20 years" says BBC Music Magazine. In a program set to music by Beethoven, Ives, and Schumann, the extraordinary Mark Morris Dance Group, fresh off its summer appearances at the 2009 Tanglewood and Lincoln Center Mostly Mozart Festivals, returns with two West Coast premieres. Performed to live accompaniment by the MMDG Music Ensemble, Visitation and Empire Garden exhibit Mark Morris's sublime signature blend of sound and movement. Morris's "triumphant" (San Francisco Chronicle) V, rounds out the program.

Program: Morris/Visitation, set to Beethoven's Sonata for Piano and Cello No 4, Op. 102, No 1; Empire Garden, set to Ives' Trio for Violin, Cello, and Piano; V, set to Schumann's Quintet in E-flat Major, Op. 44

Empire Garden and Visitation are commissioned, in part, by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (New York, NY) and Tanglewood Music Center of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (James Levine, music director).
