This dazzling early music ensemblea hit in Berkeley in 2008was formed by Fabio Biondi in 1990 to establish a new and definitive Italian presence in the interpretation of music from the Baroque and classical eras on original instruments. Biondi gathered together some of the best Italian musicians with whom he had already worked, and soon the group met with huge success. From Milan's La Scala to Vienna's Musikverein and Sydney's famed Opera House, Biondi and his string ensemble have been praised for their "vibrant, crackling and assured" (The New York Times) performances.
