German violinist Julia Fischer won the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition in 1995, an event that catapulted her toward a sterling career that has subsequently seen her perform with the major orchestras of Europe and North America. Today, she is recognized worldwide as an exceptionally gifted performer—"Her facility and accuracy are astonishing," says the Philadelphia Inquirer—having received numerous awards and effusive acclaim for her live performances and recordings. Don't miss this special all-Bach program performed by Gramophone magazine's youngest ever "Artist of the Year" (2007).
