Laurie Anderson is one of America's most renownedand daringcreative pioneers. "The spiky-haired queen of avant-garde pop" (The Guardian, London) is known primarily for her multimedia presentations, in which she casts herself in roles as varied as visual artist, composer, poet, photographer, filmmaker, electronics whiz, vocalist, and instrumentalist. Delusion, her compelling new multimedia work, is a series of 10 two-person plays exploring various ways of looking at two opposing sides of questions, issues, stories, beliefs, and themes. Anderson will play all the characters, and the parts will be defined by an array of advanced audio triggers and soundscapes, software, digital programs, and projected sets.
Commissioned by Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), Vancouver; and The Barbican Center, London. With additional support from Cal Performances, UC Berkeley, and Stanford Lively Arts, Stanford University.
