Cal Performances and the Mark Morris Dance Group have enjoyed a long and enduring relationship that has brought the company to the Zellerbach Hall stage for over 20 years. That is why we are so excited to open the 2007/08 season with this dynamic group and a grand celebration. Come enjoy wine, hors d'ouevres, and much merriment while you rub shoulders with Mark Morris and members of the company.

Joffrey Ballet Open Rehearsal

Mark Morris' The Hard Nut is a holiday favorite and the irreverent choreographer has been dearly loved by Bay Area audiences for years. In this spirit we bring you a lively conversation between choreographer Mark Morris and Cal Performances Director Robert Cole. They will speak about their numerous collaborations over the years and how The Hard Nut evolved from a mere idea into an international crowd pleaser.

It is rare to have the opportunity to see a performance in as an intimate of a space as a private home. But we offer this special performance to our Directors Circle members every season. Last year, young jazz prodigy, composer, and pianist Taylor Eigsti wowed the group with an impressive set of jazz standards and new pieces. Plans are in the works to bring you an equally amazing experience this season.
